At World Cassette Outreach of India, we believe the "is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes" (Rom 1:16). Therefore, our primary focus is on the Word.
Providing Timely Technology for the Timeless Truth that ALL may hear the Gospel
For over 30 years, WCOI has been helping people in India HEAR God speak to them in their own language through Audio Bibles. We work hand in hand with Bible translators to reach the 60% of India that are functionally non-literate by helping provide them with Audio Scriptures that are recorded in their Heart Language.
We depend on God's people who share a vision for providing God's Word in audio to the people of India. If God is calling you to partner with us, please read on to learn how you can join us in prayer, financial support, and/or a mission immersion experience.
Providing Timely Technology for the Timeless Truth that ALL may hear the Gospel!

“Thank You!” They said, “Thank You!” when we gave them the Bibles. This is what I heard as soon as our team came back from our first distribution among the Garasia people. This is a very significant statement which I will explain in a bit. WCOI first came to hear about the Garasia project about 20 years ago through translators who went into the field to translate the first Bible for the Garasia people. We blessed them on their journey and moved on with our respective ministries. Last year, by God’s providence, we had the opportunity to visit Rajasthan to meet with some tribal pastors.
During the course of our conversation, we were reminded of the Garasia people who needed to hear about God’s
Love made manifest in his son Jesus Christ. The translators persevered for many years and finally after 20 years of work had a New Testament for this royal tribe. Unfortunately, the Garasias have few than 3-5% of people who can read to understand. Having WCOI and ASM step in to record the Scripture was both an answer to their prayers but also a wonderful way in which God’s Word could be made accessible to everybody.
The village where the distribution took place was in a remote part in the state of Gujarat (near the Rajasthan border). Our team arrived the night before the distribution and were ushered into a small hut devoid of electricity and water. Early next morning, close to 150 people gathered to get their hands on the first ever recording done in the Garasia language. They had the opportunity to hear God speak in the Garasia language. What an incredible moment!
Many stories were shared with the people. The most poignant story was that of the man who came to Bangalore to give his voice for the recording of the Garasia NT. To leave a spouse behind for any reason is considered taboo among the Garasia. To leave a pregnant wife behind is unthinkable. And yet, dear “Pappu” made the sacrifice to do that so his people could hear God. Not only was his wife pregnant but she was in her third trimester as well. As his story was shared during the day of the distribution people wept openly as they heard his incredible story. Also, the first believer among the Garasias has his own Bible now. Imagine if you will his story. In the entire tribe of over 250,000 people, he was the first one to follow Jesus. And today, he has his own Bible. He is now able to hear his dear Lord speak his beloved Garasia. He is able to wake up and go to sleep hearing God’s Word . It is simply unbelievable.
There is another beautiful story of an old Garasia woman who wanted to follow Jesus. She paid a very heavy price for this decision. Not only was she kicked out of her family, she was rendered homeless. She slept on tree branches. She told stories of how during “honey season,” bears would come and try to bother her. She repeatedly would look at them and say, “I know your creator. You cannot harm me.” And thus she lived for much of her life. Today, she has her own Bible as well. She not only can speak truth that she has heard from her pastor, she can now speak truth that she has heard directly from God’s Word.
“Aabar!” was the recurring theme of that beautiful day. Only later would we come to realize that the Garasias have no word for “Thanks” in their language. They are a group that does not have a culture of “giving thanks” in their history. In order to say “thanks”,the group had to borrow a Gujarati phrase and adapt it into their language. This is a very significant fact that cannot be overstated enough. God’s Word brought thanksgiving into the heart of a beautiful people. For a tribe that has not known how to say “Thank You,” their whole village reverberated with the sound of thanksgiving. “Aabar!”

Quick Testimonies
(received since our distribution)
* The elderly woman who’s story was just shared, talked about how her Bible nowhelps her stay both
protected and safe in thejungles where she lives!
* Another lady said that due to her nonliteracyshe never in her wildest dreams
imagined that she’d have her own Bible toread, but now she can!
* Most of the Garasias keep the Bible in
their pocket as they walk and work in their villages!
There is still a need for more Audio Bibles. The Garasia people have an immediate need for 100 Bibles. The Mundari tribe has been requesting us for over 5000 Audio Bibles. These are needy people who have very little. You can help by sponsoring a Bible. This would help one family hear God's word anytime, anywhere.

World Cassette Outreach of India (WCOI) has been distributing Audio Bibles in many tribal languages. Most of the people who receive these Bibles from us are illiterate, blind or old and are very poor. You and your family can help participate and "Sponsor a Bible" for such a person/family.

"Sponsor a Bible" is a program that was recently started at WCOI. It is a wonderful way of being involved in giving out a Bible to a needy family in a remote village or city. In other words this digital Bible will be a missionary that you will send directly into their homes. It does not take much but it sure can touch and heal many lives. Nothing speaks more powerful than Gods true word.
Sponsor a Bible and see lives change.

We recently got back from a distribution were we distributed 150 units. The village had a literacy rate of less than 5% and no electricity. The languages that were distributed were Sadri, Mundari and Hindi New testaments. It was so good to see the smiles on everyone's face the moment they turned on their Audio Bibles. I would like to talk about a tribal group in India called the Mundaris in this update. I shared this little note about the Mundaris to a few of our partners and would like to share it with you as well.
The Mundaris have a population of 500,000 people. They live in 5 different states here in India. They are Jharkand, Orrisa, Assam, Bihar and Andamans. Their main occupation is Agriculture. They cultivate their fields during the monsoon and then work in construction sites or as daily wage laborers once the monsoon is done. They brew liquor from a particular flower that is found in the forest and rotted rice. The Mundaris enjoy getting drunk. Liquor is so important to their culture that they usually make sure that a newborn baby will taste the liquor first even before it is fed by its mother's milk. They worship nature such as Sun, Moon, Hills, Trees, and Stones. The Mundaris also worship the people of the family who are dead and they become their family deities.
They usually spend all the money they make by eating, drinking and sitting idle. They are not interested to accumulate wealth for worldly pleasures. The Literacy rate among the Mundaris is 5 to 7%. The only piece of literature that is available in their language is The Bible and their Christian Song Book. Most settlements have no electricity. The local Government has provided each family with a solar powered lamp that they use at night. They also do not own a television set or radio.
There are about 1000 churches that have been planted among these tribals, 500 pastors and 1000 full time evangelists are working with this people group. The churches or missions involved are Church of North India (CNI), Gessner Evangelical Lutheran Church (GEL), Northwest Gessner Evangelical Lutheran Church, few Roman Catholic Churches and a few Pentecostal churches.
We need 5000 to 8000 Ambassadors / Envoys to help this people group. We have recorded the New Testament in this particular language. This is a very needy group, and they are hungry for God. The time to reach them is NOW.
I would like to end with the following story we heard a few years back from the Mundaris. This story took place a few years. It’s one of my favourite stories as to how God works in wonderful ways just through Audio Scripture. I hope this encourages you as well.
